This course teaches you how to implement and use Oracle Product Information Management. Learn how to improve your item accuracy and standardize information so you can classify items, making them easy to find and manage.
Learn To:
- Categorize your item catalog.
- Assign user-defined attributes to items.
- Limit access to item data using role-based security.
- Design a new item approval process.
- Control changes to items.
- Manage item structures.
Each day's topics and hands-on exercises build on the material covered during the previous days.
Day 1: Oracle Product Information Management (PIM)
Learn how Oracle Product Information Management (PIM) can help you to consolidate and maintain unique, complete and accurate product information across your company, suppliers, and customers. You’ll become familiar with the setup steps required (in other Oracle applications and in PIM) before using PIM and complete many of these steps yourself by performing hands-on exercises.
Day 2: Create & Manage Items
After you finish setting up PIM, you’ll then learn how to create and manage new items using many different methods. Create items based on templates, import them from Excel, or get approval before you create a new item. You’ll also learn how to quickly create many similar Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) items based off of one style item.
Day 3: Explore the Product Workbench
Expert Oracle instructors will then teach you how to perform mass updates on items, item categories, and item associations with suppliers. Next, you’ll create item structures, assigning specific attributes to a certain structure. Learn how the Product Workbench simplifies this process by performing hands-on exercises. You will drag and drop components into a structure, enter component costs, and perform a cost rollup.

Day 4 covers some powerful, but optional, features of PIM. Find out if any of these features can help your business :
